“Draco,” I said playfully turning around running a finger down his chest, “I’d much rather spend this time with you,” I stood on my tip toes and brushed my lips against his. “Please don’t let me go into that class, they won’t miss me it’s only full of Slytherins and Gryffindors wouldn’t you want me to be with you?”

Draco shivered as I breathed into his ear; he grabbed me roughly by the arm and dragged me down the dungeon corridor. He smiled at me as he wrapped his arms around me. I grinned as I wrapped my arms around his neck. We were leaning in for a kiss when we heard footsteps down the hallway. We sprang apart; he looked around frantically and dragged me behind a tapestry.

“Well isn’t this like home?” I whispered giggly quietly.

Draco smiled but as the foot steps neared I continued to giggle, Draco covered my mouth with his hand and wrapped the other around my waist and pulled me back into the shadows. I dropped my books and gasped into Draco’s hand as a silhouette appeared in front of the tapestry. He pulled me closer to him getting me as close to him as possible.

His breath rustled the hair on top of my head as the silhouette stood still in front of the tapestry. I couldn’t tell who it was, but it could’ve been any of the teachers. And if they caught us we’d be in the most trouble. The person started to move and their foot steps died down. Draco released my mouth as we mouth sighed with relieve.

“Boy that was close,” I said my heart slowing its beating.

“Who do you think that what?” Draco asked standing behind me staring at the tapestry.

“Filch maybe,” I said “its class time isn’t it, there wouldn’t be any teachers down here would there?”

“They shouldn’t be,” Draco said walking around me and up to the tapestry “There aren’t any classes down this hallway only the Common Room, but why would a teacher go in there?”

“I dunno,” I said as Draco started to move the tapestry so we could get out.

“Uh oh,” Draco groaned.

“What,” I said walked over to him.

“The tapestry,” He said to me looking over his shoulder “It’s suck,” He said turning around at me, I could see him frowning in the little light in the small space.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” I groaned putting all my weight on the tapestry and it barely moved. “We can’t be stuck in there.”

“Ah but alas we are,” Draco sighed taking at seat on the floor. “Don’t worry;” he said looking up at me “Classes will be over in an hour, we’ll be out in no time.”

“An hour in here,” I asked sitting next to him. “This isn’t where I expected to end up during my hooky hour.”

“Don’t worry,” Draco said wrapping his arm around my shoulders “We’ll be out in no time,”

“Don’t you know any spells?” I groaned “You are a seventh year,”

“I do, but it’s a school tapestry we’d end up getting detention for ruining school property and being behind here in the first place,” He sighed.

“Lumos,” I said lazily and placed my wand at our feet to create some light. “Hopefully someone will see that through the tapestry,” I sighed resting my head on Draco’s shoulder.

The hour passed by slowly and by the time the bell rang Draco and I were half asleep and bored to tears. Draco was asleep on my shoulder when I noticed the bottom of the tapestry was rippling as the people passed by it to get to the Slytherin common room. I smiled as I nudged Draco off my shoulder.

“What’s the matter,” He said groggily

“The tapestry,” I smiled pointing “It’s moving, I think we can get out.”

“Great,” Draco said standing up.

I picked up my wand as Draco helped me to my feet. He walked over to the tapestry and kicked it, it moved away from the stone wall. He turned around and smiled at me. He poked his head from around it and when no one was coming he grabbed my hand and pulled me out after him. I smiled as we made sure the Potion’s teacher wasn’t coming out of his room, once that was clear we ran up to the Entrance Hall.

“Well that’s something to tell the kids,” Draco laughed.

“Kids?” I asked stopping as he let go of my hand.

“Well some day,” Draco blushed turning around “you know just generally, it’s not like I was thinking of marrying--”

“Stop while you’re ahead Draco,” I laughed holding up my hand. He smirked at
me as he grabbed my hand, I smiled. “I have to go up to the common room, come with me? Then we can go to lunch?”

“Sure,” Draco said wrapping his arm around my waist as we walked up the Entrance Hall stairs.

Once we hit the third floor we bumped into Victoria who was heading down for lunch.

“Meagan,” She exclaimed ignoring Draco “Where did you go you didn’t show up to potions.”

“Oh Draco and I we got caught up in our conversation,” I lied.

“Oh,” She said glancing at him. “Can I talk to you for a moment?”

“Sure, Draco you mind?” I asked as he removed his hand from my waist.

“Not at all,” He said smiling at us as Victoria took my arm and dragged me back
down to the second floor once we were alone she glared at me.

“What really happened?” She asked quickly.

“Draco and I talked, and then I said I didn’t want to go to Potions, we were talking some more heard someone coming and hid behind a tapestry but we got stuck and just now got out. I’m heading to the common room so I can put my books up.”

“I don’t trust him,” Victoria said folding her arms staring at me.

“What are you talking about?” I laughed at her seriousness. “You’re the one who likes him too. How can you not trust him?”

“I just don’t,” She said.

“Come off it,” I laughed.

“No,” She said sternly.

“Fine, I have to go, Draco’s waiting for me,” I said walking away “I’ll see you in a few.”

I left Victoria annoyed and angry; I shrugged it off as I walked up to Draco who was still waiting for me on the third floor. I smiled as I placed a quick kiss on his lips. He grabbed my hand as we walked up to the common room.

“What did Victoria what?” He asked quickly.

“To know what really happened when I didn’t show up in Potions,” I laughed.

“Oh,” Draco frowned.

“Don’t worry she still likes you,” I frowned back at him.

“Oh it’s not that,” He said quietly.

“What is it then?” I asked.

“It’s—nothing, don’t worry,” Draco smiled.

“All right,” I said as we reached the 7th floor. “Stay here on the steps okay? I
don’t want you hiding in the broom closet…last time that was disastrous so just
way on the stairs.”

“Okay,” Draco said kissing me.

I ran to the portrait and whispered the password. The Fat Lady swung open for me as I dashed into the common room and up to the 5th year girl’s dormitory. I threw my books onto my bed; I brushed my fingers through my hair as I grabbed a hair tie from my nightstand draw. I walked slowly down the stairs as I finished putting up my hair. I passed some second years on my way out, I heard them whisper behind me, I turned around and glared at them and they scampered off. I frowned leaving the common room.

“What’s the matter?” Draco asked me as I approached him, standing on the stairs leading down.

“Stupid second years,” I sighed smiling weakly at him.

“Giggled behind their hands at you,” Draco supplied.

“Of course,” I frowned “Why did that stupid git have to spread those rumors? I thought you and Harry would’ve hexed anyone who said anything.”

“We tried…McGonagall found us and said if we did it again we’d get detention. We’ll just have to live with it.” Draco sighed.

“Drat,” I said as we started out walk down to the Great Hall for lunch.

“Gryffindor table again?” Draco asked as we entered the Entrance Hall.

“Do we have a choice?” I said staring at the big double doors that lead to the
Great Hall.

“No really, I think if we try to sit at Slytherin they’ll try to kill you. I know Pansy’s threaded too,” Draco said frowning “I know we can sit safely at the Gryffindor table. I know no one will harm me there, they wouldn’t want to tarnish their perfect image.” He laughed

“I wouldn’t be to sure of that, I know for a fact we have loose cannons in my house. Just say something wrong to them and they’ll go off on you.” I explained to him.

“I’m not surprised, look at Potter. You say one wrong thing to him and he just snaps,” Draco smirked at me.

“I said don’t start anything with him,” I said seriously.
“I’ll remember that,” He said sarcastically.

I frowned and hit him playfully on the chest; he lightly held my hand as we headed into the Great Hall. He whispered something into my ear and I laughed, but when I looked up at the Gryffindor table the laugh was wiped from my face. I was staring at Victoria and Harry sitting at the table. They were sitting next to each other whispering. He had his arm around her shoulders as she had hers wrapped around his waist.

They were giving us a taste of our own medicine I knew, but it still hurt. Holding back the tears I looked up at Draco. He had hurt in his eyes as he held my hand tighter.

“What are we going to do now?” He asked me quietly.

“Just act normally I suppose, sit across from them,” I supplied.

“Act normally? This isn’t normal Meagan,” He said trying not to laugh.

“I know it’s not but you know what I mean,” I snapped.

At first he seemed taken back, but nodded slowly, tightening his grip even more on my hand we walked to the table. I smiled at Harry and Victoria who looked up at Draco and me as we took seats across from them. They ignored us and went on with their business.

The lunch was eating mostly in silence with glares coming from Draco and Harry and nervous glances at the both of them coming from me. Draco wrapped his arm around my shoulder and Harry’s cheeks burned, he kissed me lightly on the head and Harry grimaced, I hated being a pawn in their twisted game.

I turned my head toward Draco and was greeted by his lips. I smiled at him as we broke apart. I looked over at Harry and he was staring at Draco like he wanted to kill him and rip him to pieces, he had the death glare in his eyes. For someone who was supposedly dating Victoria he was showing a lot of emotion toward Draco and me.

I looked at Victoria and she was staring at her plate, it looked like she was crying. I felt guilty; I blushed as I looked away from her. My eyes fell upon Harry who was still staring evilly at Draco.

Slowly he turned his attention toward me, for the first time in days Harry was looking me in the eye I couldn’t look away. I smiled at him weakly as he grinned at me. I searched his eyes for a sign, the sign that he and Victoria were a fake that the hatred of Draco and I kissing was because he was jealous. I was looking for something, anything that would give me a hint.

Suddenly be broke his gaze with me and looked over at Victoria. My heart shattered as he lifted her face with a light touch. He wiped away the tears from her cheeks; as he whispered something into her hear. She smiled weakly and nodded at him. She grabbed his hand and with that they left Draco and I at the table alone and stunned.
