Author's Note: Well this wasn't going to be my 'returning' story but I figured a lot of people wanted to know exactly where the hell I was going with this story. Even I don't know anymore, but I'm going to continue this story believe me I will :) Enjoy
“AJ,” Mickie said knocking on his door lightly she waited a few moments before she opened up the door.
Sighing she watched him sit in his chair staring at the floor, his head in his hands. Either he finally broke it off with Alexia or he found out about Caelan and Punk. Quickly Mickie walked across the room. Kneeling she rested her hand on the back of AJ’s neck as she rubbed it lightly.
“What’s wrong Allen?” She asked quietly into his ear.
“Everything,” He sighed looking at her slowly “I finally broke it off with Lexi; she slapped me when I said it was over and wanted to be with Caelan.”
“Well you broke it off,” Mickie beamed “That’s great news, why are you still down? You didn’t hear anything about Caelan did you?”
“About Caelan what would I have heard about her?” AJ’s head snapped to attention as Mickie rubbed his neck harder.
“What happened,” He asked grabbing her wrist lightly removing his hand from his neck. Biting her lip she looked away from him. “Mickie tell me.”
“I’m not sure if you should hear this from me Allen,” She said seriously “You have to talk to Caelan.”
“Mickie,” He said taking a deep breath as he closed his eyes before opening them slowly and looking at his friend. “Please, tell me what’s going on with Caelan?”
“She—she has a date,” Mickie said quickly as AJ dropped her wrist looking amazed.
“Who—who with?” He asked looking at her slowly.
“Punk,”
“Punk?” AJ asked shooting out of his seat as he rubbed his neck lightly, pacing “Cae has a date with Punk? With Phil?” He asked turning around to face Mickie who was sitting on the floor looking away from him.
“AJ look,” Mickie said quickly getting off the floor and running up to him. She held his face in her hands making him look at her in the eye “As your best friend and as hers, I will do everything to get you two together, everything!”
“Thanks Mickie,” AJ said calming down as he pulled her into a hug.
“AJ,” Caelan asked brightly knocking on his door, slowly she opened it, just in time to see AJ and Mickie break off the hug “Oh--” Biting her lip she felt a blush rising in her cheeks. “I’ll just wait for you out here.”
“Caelan it’s not!” AJ said quickly, but she had already shut the door. “Great,” He sighed.
“C’mon Jay, Caelan knows that we’re just friends,” Mickie said worrying her lip “I bet she just got embarrassed or something I don’t--”
“Damnit Jay!” Joe said busting into the room looking furious. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?”
“Joe calm down!” AJ said holding up his hands trying to calm Joe down and keep him at a distance. “What’s wrong?”
“What’s wrong?” Joe said laughing throwing his hands up in the air “Caelan that’s what’s wrong!”
“What did I do?” AJ asked quickly.
“Well for one thing you waited to long and now Punk and Caelan are a couple,” Joe said pointing at the door. “Look for yourself.”
“I thought it was just a date,” AJ said quickly walking over to the door.
Mickie and Joe exchanged quick glances as AJ cracked open the door. Frowning he saw Caelan and Punk flirting with each other across the hallway, AJ bit his lip as he continued to watch with interest. Caelan was leaning on the wall as she was grinning and blushing more than AJ ever made her. Punk was leaning next to her rubbing her arm lightly as she laughed at a joke. Anger rose in AJ’s stomach as he quietly shut the door. Taking a deep breath he held in his outburst.
“Allen,” Mickie said quietly placing a hand on AJ’s shoulder, which he shrugged off quickly “I told you we’ll fix this.”
“She looks happy with him,” He said weakly walking over to his bag and picking up the belt “What kind of friend would I be if I broke them up?”
“A friend who loves her?” Joe supplied as AJ shook his head.
“I’m not going to do anything about it, she can be with Punk,” AJ said slowly throwing the belt over his shoulder.
“AJ,” Joe said quietly placing a hand on his shoulder “I—I—um, told Caelan.”
“Told her what?” AJ asked quickly turning around.
“She knows,” Joe said “I told her that you loved her.”
“The way she was acting, doesn’t seem like she believed you,” AJ said longingly looking at the door.
“She believed me,” Joe smiled reassuringly. “But there was something she wanted.”
“What?” AJ asked hopefully.
“I can’t tell you that,” Joe said shaking his head. “You have to figure that
out on your own.”
“Great,” AJ groaned placing his hand on the door knob. “Something else to worry about,” Quietly he opened the door and walked out without saying a word
to Mickie or Joe.
“What does Caelan want AJ to do?” Mickie asked Joe slowly.
“She wants him to tell her he loves her,” Joe said smiling brightly. “And when he does that she’ll tell him.”
“I knew it,” Mickie said excitedly “She does love him.”
“Yes,” Joe said slowly opening the door watching AJ stand awkwardly waiting
for Caelan as she continued to flirt with Punk “But she wouldn’t exactly say
the word love.”
“She’s worse than AJ,” Mickie sighed.
“Cae,” AJ said nervously clearing his throat.
Caelan stopped giggling as she quickly looked at AJ, biting her lip as Punk pushed himself off of the wall wrapping his arm around her shoulders. Punk knew about AJ liking Caelan, but right now he wanted her and no one would be able to stop him from getting what he wanted. He held back a smile as AJ stood nervously in front of the new couple.
“What’s up Allen?” Punk said flashing a big grin.
“Caelan it’s time for our match,” He said slowly ignoring Punk.
“Oh he’s right,” Caelan said looking at Punk slowly “I’ve got to go.”
“Why can’t you just stay with me?” He asked frowning as he pulled her close,
she giggled pushing him away.
“I can’t I have to go with AJ,” She said as he leaning into kiss her.
“It’s not like he’s going to miss you,” Punk said slowly as Caelan looked at AJ.
“That’s not the point,” She said pushing him away. “It’s my job.”
