Author's Note: It's been a few weeks since I've updated this. Sorry, doesn't really seem that many people are interested in this but I'll still post it :)
“I was just—um,” AJ said quickly looking at Caelan as she tried to avoid his eyes.
“Well?” Alexia shouted at AJ as everyone was now starting at them, even the bus driver was looking at the action through his rear view mirror.
“Why do you care that AJ was just hanging out talking with his friends?” Mickie piped up as she stood her ground, even though Alexia was bigger and taller than her.
“She isn’t his friend,” Lexi said fiercely pointing at Caelan as she looked dumbfounded at her.
“What?” Caelan said quickly standing up for herself as AJ tried to disappear in to the seat. “How dare
you even say that! You don’t like me just because you think your boyfriend likes me!”
“Oh I don’t think it,” Lexi snapped as she glared down at AJ “He’s just too much of a wuss to admit it!”
“Enough!” Joe roared as Caelan and Lexi jumped at the sound of his shout. “Lexi go back to your damn seat.”
“But--”
“GO!” Joe growled. Lexi held her ground but ultimately turned on her heel and stomped off to the back of the bus. Slowly the talking built up again and everyone went back to what they were doing. “Jay go to your damn girlfriend.”
“But,” AJ started looking at a dumbfounded Caelan who sank back into her seat staring at Joe.
“AJ just go,” Mickie said quietly as she bit her lip looking down at Caelan who still didn’t know what
to make of the situation.
“Fine,” AJ said quickly getting out of the seat and going back to Lexi.
“Cae,” Joe and Mickie said quietly.
“Don’t,” She said shaking her head slowly before staring out the window again.
“How could you do that?” Lexi said loudly to AJ as he slumped into his seat looking furious. His blue eyes shinning with hatred.
“How could I do that?” AJ said pointing to himself as he quickly looked at Lexi. “Do you have any idea
what you have just done?”
“Make Caelan cry?” She said smirking.
“Don’t you even!” AJ said through gritted teeth, glaring at her.
“Gonna hit me AJ?” Lexi said pointing at her jaw “Do it, be a man.”
“I’m not going to deal with you,” AJ said slowly as he moved to the next row of seats.
“You’ll be back,” She said grinning.
AJ sat in a metal chair in his small locker room staring at the ROH belt. The past few days seemed to have been a personal hell. He didn’t know how to deal with Alexia and Caelan. He loved Caelan with all his heart, but he didn’t want to break Lexi’s heart. He still hadn’t broken it off with her; he was going to do it before his match against Alex Shelley, which was in ten minutes.
“AJ?”
“Lexi,” AJ said slowly “Come in,”
“Hi,” She said slowly opening the door and closing it quickly behind her. With all his might AJ was
trying to be nice to her but he never forgave her for her behavior on the bus toward Caelan. “Joe said
you wanted to talk to me?”
“Joe,” AJ said quietly shaking his head as he placed the belt down on his bag. “Lexi you should sit down.”
“This is bad isn’t it?” She asked biting her lip nervously as AJ lead her into the metal chair he was just sitting in “Look if this is about the bus, I’ll try to get along with Caelan,”
“This is beyond that Lexi,” AJ said taking a deep breath. “I lied to you when I told you I was in love with you. The truth is I’m in love with Caelan, and I want to be with her. Please don’t hate me.”
“Hate you?” Lexi said laughing as tears streamed down her cheeks. “Don’t hate you,” She said standing up, looking at him fiercely taking a deep breath she looked away.
“Look I’m really sorry okay--” Alexia slapped him hard in the face.
“No,” She said slowly gathering up her things “I’m sorry—I’m sorry that you have to deal with a girl who has no feelings for you.”
“Lexi,” AJ said quickly as she was half way out the door.
“Have a nice life Allen,” She said slamming the door shut behind her.
“She’s gone,” He said quietly as he sat back down in his seat. “She’s really gone,” He smiled as he realized that he can Caelan could finally be together.
Bending down Caelan tied up her laces as Mickie leaned against the wall watching her intently. For the last day Mickie was trying to get Caelan to talk to her, but after the incident on the bus, she shut down and refused to talk to anyone. When ever AJ was brought up she refused to talk and locked herself in the bathroom. Mickie was happy there was no way she could avoid AJ now.
“How you feeling?” Mickie asked quietly as her friend sighed.
“Better,” She said sitting up tucking her bangs behind her ears as she tightened her ponytail. “I
haven’t really been thinking about it, I just want to get past this you know?”
“I understand,” Mickie said nodding. “Look about AJ--”
“Forget about him,” Caelan said smiling at Mickie “He’s no longer in the picture, I um, I have a date
with Punk.”
“What?” Mickie asked loudly “Repeat that.”
“I said: I have got a date with Punk, he asked me out this morning,” Caelan said happily “I might actually have a chance, he’s liked me for a while, and he’s growing on me.”
“But AJ,” Mickie said desperately.
“He’s got Lexi,” Caelan said shrugging as she slipped on her jacket “And now I have Punk, that’s all
the matters.”
“Cae,” Joe said popping his head in the door “Oh hey Mickie, could I talk to Caelan for a minute.”
“Sure,” Mickie said smiling, as she walked past Joe.
“Hey Joe what’s up?” Caelan asked grinning at him as she did up her belt.
“I just heard,” Joe said carefully “About you and Punk.”
“It’s great isn’t it?” She said beaming “You know I never thought he would have the guts to ask me out, everyone thinks I’m dating AJ so they stay far away from me.”
“About Jay,” Joe said quickly “There’s something you should know.”
“What ever it is, I don’t care,” She said seriously shaking her head “I’m over AJ, that’s it, there is no hope for us,”
“Don’t say that,” Joe said rolling his eyes “If you would just understand,”
“Understand what?” She snapped getting annoyed.
“AJ’s in love with you, you idiot!” Joe snapped back at her.
“What?” She said breathlessly.
