William rapped his fingers on the arm rest of the chair he was sitting in. It was a long flight and he was getting anxious about getting off. So far he had endured over 5 hours on the plane, luckily he had less than twenty minutes left. He sighed staring out the window; all he saw for miles and miles was ocean. He wanted to come to Japan early so he could look around. Ever since he was a child he was always fascinated with the culture, he was excited to be able to see it up close.
The time he had on the plane passed by so quickly he was relieved. All he needed right now was a shower. Once the plane had landed he grabbed his carry on bag from over head and quickly exited the plane—he loved that he was able to sit in first class. He quickly found his way to baggage claim; he spotted his bag and picked it up.
He stood outside looking around for his ride; his reps guaranteed there would be a car waiting for him. He sighed as he took a seat on his suitcase. William waited for what seemed like hours before he saw the black car with tinted windows pull up. Standing up the driver greeted him and took his luggage and placed it in the trunk while William took a seat in the back.
He stared out of the windows in awe has he was being driven to his hotel. The bright lights of the buildings and how close together they all were, he was amazed. He couldn’t wait to explore all this on his own in the morning. Once the car stopped he let himself out of the car and waited for the driver to get his luggage. The driver handed him his suitcases and with a smile and a nod of the head the driver was gone.
William looked up at his hotel, the one his managers booked for him. He was hoping it wasn’t one of those pod hotels, though he had specifically asked not to have one. Taking a deep breath he walked into the lobby, immediately he was bombarded with bellhops all rushing to take his bags. He quickly let go of them before a tug of war started. He walked up to the check in desk.
“Hello sir how may I help you?” The man behind the desk said.
“I had reservations,” William smiled as the man typed something into the computer.
“Name sir,”
“Mr. Teacup,” William said laughing to himself.
“Mr. Teacup yes here you are,” The man said handing him the keys. “You’re on the second floor room 204,
one of our best suites please enjoy your say.”
“Thank you,” William said taking the keys the bellhops followed him to the elevator and stood anxiously behind him as they were riding to the second floor.
Scanning the hall way William headed toward his room at the end of the hallway. Putting his key into the electronic slot the door opened for him, stepping into the room his jaw dropped. The room was better than he’d hoped for. He walked away from the door as the bellhops placed his bags down and left bowing at William’s back.
He took a seat on the large Queen sized bed in the middle of the room. On either side were night tables, with a phone and a lap on each one. Behind a small screen was a spacious bathroom, with jet stream tub. There was a couch, which was across from an entertainment center. And on the other side of the couch was a four person table. William smiled as he lay back on the bed, he would defiantly enjoy this trip.
“Excuse me,” William said to someone who was standing next to him at a cross walk “Do you speak English?” He asked desperately. The person looked at him and walked away.
He groaned—he was completely lost. At first he knew where he was going, he had bought a map from the gift shop in his hotel and was following it perfectly till he took a wrong turn, and now he was across from a park that he couldn’t locate on the map. He sighed as he decided he would just go sit in the park, calm down and try again.
He quickly ran across the street when the street was clear. He was exhausted and frustrated. He took a seat on the nearest bench, he sighed running his fingers through his blonde hair and sighed again.
“Why doesn’t anyone speak English?” He said aloud.
“I do,” Came a sweet voice from beside him.
He looked next to him; he didn’t even realize that someone was sitting there. They were hidden behind a book that he couldn’t make out the name of. “You speak English?” He asked slowly.
“Of course I do silly,” He heard a giggle from behind the heavy book.
She put down the book; she was a girl about seventeen, with short brown hair. She smiled as her hazel eyes twinkled with love. She tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear as she studied him.
“What?” He asked trying not to laugh.
“You’re not from around here either,” She said dog-earing the page she was on.
“Go call,” He said finally laughing. “I’m from England. How about you,”
“America,” She sighed.
“What’s an American doing here sitting in the park,” He asked curiosity taking over.
“I live here,” She frowned “My parents work here and I came with them.”
“What do you’re parents do,” He asked scooting closer to her.
“They are computer engineers,” She said.
“What are you doing out here,”
“They are the best at what they do; they got a job and took it. We’ve been here for almost three years.”
She smiled. “What are you doing here?”
“A premiere,” He said blushing—he was happy for once to meet an American who didn’t know who he was, and he didn’t want to ruin the moment.
“A premiere?” She asked slowly.
“Yeah,” William said trying to think of a story “My Uncle’s in this new movie and he took me along with him.”
“How nice,” She smiled opening her book again.
“How well do you know this place?” He asked quickly, he wasn’t going to lose her to her book; he found her alluring and wanted to keep her attention.
“Very well,” She laughed “Why, you lost?”
“Well yes,” He blushed again.
“Do you want me to show you how to get somewhere,” She asked him kindly.
“How about you take me,” William suggested, she looked at her watch.
“Sure,” She grinned shutting the book and placing it in her bag that was sitting on the other side of her. “I’m Meg by the way,” She said standing up holding out her hand.
“William,” He said standing up and shaking it. “Pleasure to meet you,”
“The pleasure’s all mine,” She grinned standing to walk away. “So where do you want to go?”
“I don’t know,” William said walking beside her. “What to go shopping?”
“Sure,” She giggled. “I know the perfect place.”
Meg took his hand in hers; William didn’t know what to think about this move. But he didn’t care he smiled as she pulled him lightly down the street. He knew he was going to like this trip.

Date: 2005-12-31 04:25 am (UTC)Oh, and the fact that a map sold to a gaijin would have the stuff in english, and most roads are also labeled in english, so it'd be pretty hard to get lost, and there are very few parks in Tokyo.
They're just some minor details.
