Tom pushed his way through the crowded room it was a party thrown for no reason, just because. It was being thrown by Michael Rosenbaum, a friend whom has been working with Tom for the last four years. Michael invited Tom and his girlfriend Lyn to his house for this party. As soon as they arrived Lyn left his side and ran off.
That was over an hour ago and he’s been looking for her for the last half hour. He wanted to give up but he really wanted to go home. A drink was shoved into his hand as he walked through the kitchen. He stared at it and wondered if the drink was drunken out of. Grimacing he threw the cut away as he passed by the full trash can.
The music was blaring so loud he could hardly think at all. He walked back into the living room and looked around the room. Still no Lyn, Tom couldn’t imagine where she was. Tom took a seat on the finally empty couch. Now that he thought about it, he hadn’t seen Michael at all either, but he shrugged that off.
Tom had been to all of Michael’s parties since he had met him. Only rarely had he seen him at his parties, Tom had no clue what he was doing at these parties. But he had a small idea; he didn’t question Michael’s choices. It didn’t concern him.
He was getting impatient and he was getting tired of the party. He leaned back and rested his head on the back of the couch. Sighing Tom stared at the ceiling and closed his eyes. Blinking, something hit him on the head. Standing up he quickly looked around. He rubbed the spot where the object hit it. He looked around and couldn’t find the object.
Wanting to sit back down of the couch he was angry when he noticed the couch was full of people a minute after he got up. Slowly he pushed his way back into the kitchen. Reaching the counter with all the drinks on them he poured his own drink this time. Taking a sip he leaned against the counter. Draining the last part of the drink he threw his cup with the hundreds already on the floor.
The party was dieing around him and he was happy. People were leaving in groups of fives and more. Soon he was the only one in the kitchen. Then one of the few left in the house. It was then he decided to go look for Lyn. Leaving the kitchen he started on the first floor.
He spent 20 minutes looking through the first floor. Most of the first floor doors were locked because of the party. But the rooms that weren’t locked she wasn’t in them. Frustrated he stopped at the bottom of the stairs in the entrance hall. During the parties the second floor was totally off limits, but the party was over.
Walking slowly up the stairs, he paused midway and stared up at the door in front of him. Something was drawing him to that room. Talking even more slowly he headed toward that door; the door which he knew was Michael’s room. He had only been in that room once before and that was to help him pick out a shirt for a date. He stopped before the door was his hand on the door knob. Putting his ear against the door he didn’t hear anything.
To his surprise the door wasn’t locked, he slowly pushed the door open as his heart pounded in his throat. His eyes didn’t go straight to the bed as the door swung open. Tom’s eyes went to the clothing left on the door, and straight to the pink short sleeve top lying on the floor.
Tom heard rustling and that’s what drew his eyes to the bed, and that’s when he realized who the pink shirt belonged to: “Lyn,” He whispered heart broken by the sight before him.
His best friend and his girlfriend in bed together. A million things were running through his head as he saw Michael on top of Lyn. He wondered how long? And if he drove her away and into the arms of another man. He wanted to kill Michael as Lyn ran her fingers through his short brown hair.
“Lyn!” Tom yelled and Michael quickly rolled off her “how dare you!”
“Tom,” Lyn cried, pulling a sheet over her “it’s not what you think.”
“Not what I think?” Tom yelled from the door not taking his eyes off them “you are fucking my best friend!”
“Tom wait!” Michael yelled as Tom ran down the stairs.

Date: 2005-08-28 02:10 am (UTC):) I'm so craving to watch that movie, but I don't want to rent it, and it's not THAT good enough to buy it. Guess I gotta wait for Smallville on Monday.
Glad you like
