Assignment: Complete a short story. The story must be at least 3 full typed pages long
I used an old Fan-Fiction that I'm not sure was posted here. I cut out some parts so if I find it wasn't posted here than I shall post the complete story.
“AJ!” She said frantically running down the long corridor looking for him. For such a small building she had been looking for him for a while and couldn’t find him anywhere. “AJ! AJ! Allen where are you?”
“He’s in here,” Someone said quickly from behind her. Turning around she ran her fingers through her hair. She walked quickly to the open door as the man in front of her smiled.
“Petey,” She said breathlessly. He had already wrestled for the night but was the main person who helped AJ into the back after his attack. “How is he?”
“Meagan,” He said quietly placing his hands lightly o her shoulders. Her heart leapt, she had dated him through all his wrestling years, but every time he was injured she couldn’t help but become concerned. The smallest thing could change him forever. “He’s fine. Take a deep breath. His neck was tweaked and he’s got a few stitches--”
Groaning Meagan pushed Petey out of the way to view AJ. He was sitting slumped in a folding chair in the far corner of the room. Two small bags of ice lay on both of his shoulders, with a towel around his neck. He looked up at her and she held back her wince. There was a tiny suture mark under his left eye and small abrasions across his cheeks. He smiled weakly at her.
“I’ll leave you two be,” She heard Petey say quietly before shutting the door.
“Baby,” She said weakly, kneeling down in front of him, rubbing his thighs lightly “What happened?”
Meagan’s hands roamed over his body, making sure he was all in once piece. He sat still as her finger tips skimmed over his ribs and up his arms. Slowly she removed the bag of ice off of his right shoulder; underneath there was a neat row of stitches. Hovering her fingers over them for a moment she moved up his neck and to the small scratches that littered his face. Smiling she brushed back his messy hair and kissed him on his forehead.
“Cide got over zealous—not to worry,” He said placing the ice bag back on his shoulder. “I’m perfectly fine.”
“You don’t look fine,” She frowned, sitting back on her heels “Sweetie you look horrible! I told you not to go all out for this.”
“This is my job, we have to go over this every time I get hurt,” He sighed holding her hand lightly “And I have to tell you every time--”
“Okay,” She said quickly shrugging “I just through we’d be going out. You said we could go for a late dinner, you know for a late night.”
“I know,” He grinned lightly cupping her cheek in his spare hand “We still can.”
“But you’re in--” He kissed her.
“I feel fine, I promised you and I never break my promises,” He said.
“AJ,” She whispered closing her eyes “You know I hate it when you do that. You know when you kiss me like that I’ll agree to anything.”
“It’s not my fault I’m a good kisser,” He laughed removing the bags full of water off of his shoulders and tossed them into the trash can.
“How are they?” Meagan asked quietly grabbing the towel from around his neck she stood up and dabbed the stitches dry.
“Right is still throbbing,” He grimaced turning his neck. “OW! Okay the neck will take some time then.”
“No condition,” She mumbled walking to the other side of the room where the medical supplies were stashed. Grabbing a gauze pad she slipped the medical tape onto her slim wrist and grabbed the ointment from its small box.
“And I said hush,” He said playfully as he watched her work on bandaging his shoulder. Gliding the ointment onto the small pad she placed it on his shoulder. AJ sucked in a quick breath at the cool and sudden relief. Meagan stood frozen in her place looking at him
worriedly. “No it’s good, it’s okay.” He sighed contently.
“I’m surprised you felt that,” She said hurriedly taping the bandage to his shoulder “I warned you about freezing them.”
“Sorry,” He mumbled as she laughed quietly shaking her head.
“Done,” She said quickly putting on the final strip of tape.
“All better,” He said raising his arm flexing it he smiled. He stood up quickly and wavered, his eyes seemed to black over as the room spun around him. He stumbled into Meagan’s arms as she tried to hold him steady. “Maybe not, might’ve had a few shots to the head—directly.”
“Oh AJ what am I going to do with you?” She smiled as he wrapped his arms tightly around her holding her to his chest. He rubbed his hands up and down her back comforting her as she held him close. When he walked into the ring for a match she had a sinking feeling her stomach, like he would never return that he would never be the AJ who left her.
“What ever you want tonight babe,” He said kissing the top of her head. “But right now, I believe it’s time for me to get out of these bloody clothing.”
“I’ll go gather my stuff then, and let you get dressed” Meagan grinned stepping back from AJ. AJ made a frowning face and she laughed shaking her head as she held out her hand for him “C’mon let’s go back to your locker room and change.”
With the support of Meagan AJ slowly walked down the hall to his locker room. The show seemed to be over now and everyone was packing up and leaving, wishing them a good night and telling them don’t forget about breakfast tomorrow. AJ sat quietly down in the chair in his locker room as Meagan quietly shut the door behind them. Rummaging in AJ’s bag she pulled out his shorts, t-shirt and shoes. AJ slowly pulled off his shoes which were stained in blood, sighing he leaned back in the chair as Meagan smiled at him as she placed his clothing beside him. AJ handed her his belt, she threw it on his suitcase before exiting the room to give him some time to chance, she knew he must not like looking weak in front of her.
"You can come in," AJ shouted through the door, she could hear him groan.
“Are you sore?” She giggled quietly commibg back into the room as AJ collapsed back into the chair once he was sitting in his shorts.
“No-no I’m fine don’t worry about it,” He smiled grabbing his socks and pulling them on quickly as she packed up his bag. AJ slowly slipped on his shoes as he pulled the shirt around himself not bothering on buttoning it up.
“Ready?” She asked smiling at him as he pulled his keys out of his pocket.
“As I’ll ever be,” He grinned as he followed her out of the room.
The halls were completely empty all the wrestlers had already left to their hotel rooms. All they could hear was the deconstruction of the ring on the other side of the walls. AJ walked slowly behind her watching her as she pushed open the door. He laughed to himself as he heard his suit case wheel clunk against the metal stairs leading to the back parking lot. AJ pushed open the door and his face was hit by cool night air, he walked slowly door the steps and toward his truck.
Meagan threw AJ’s suit case in the back seat of the truck. Closing her eyes she took a deep breath of the night air. She always loved to be outside at night during the spring, there was something about the air that she loved. The rustle of keys stirred her. Opening her eyes she saw AJ standing in the middle of the parking lot looking at her intently. Slowly she walked up to him.
“What’s wrong?” She asked quickly running her hand down his face as he smiled at her.
“I love you,” He said quickly, before picking her up and twisting her around in a circle. She giggled as he placed her down on the ground. He kissed her lightly he held her close.
“Sweetie you’re hurt,” She said quietly disturbing the perfect quiet. “We should get to the hotel. You need rest.”
“Na,” AJ smiled as they slowly walked to the truck. “We’ll go back to the hotel but we don’t need to rest.”
“What’s gotten into you?” Meagan asked quietly once they were in the truck. She stared at him as he silently drove to the hotel ten minutes away “something’s not the same.”
“I just realized something,” AJ said quickly startling her, she didn’t expect him to answer. “You’re the best thing that happened to me, I know that now.”
“AJ,” She said quietly shaking her head as she peered out of the window at the empty city. “Don’t start this again.”
“I’m not starting anything,” He said looking at her for a second before looking back at the roadway “It’s true, you’re the best thing I can have—the best thing I ever will have. I want to show you my appreciation.”
“You do, in your own way, now stop this,” She said quickly unbuckling as AJ pulled into a parking spot behind their hotel. “I’m tired I don’t want another argument.”
“This isn’t going to be an argument,” AJ said quickly running up behind her grabbing her waist before she had a chance to go anywhere. “Call it the shots to the head or the pain pills kicking in I don’t care but please---.”
She turned in his arms. Cocking her head to the side he could see her smile in the faint light of the parking lot. She ran her fingers lightly down the side of his face as he picked her up. “AJ!” She said startled “You’re arms! Put me down!”
