Joe sat down in his seat gingerly, his back was hurting him from a recent match where he took him self too far. His friends were throwing him a special birthday party, he was never big on them, but he was going to enjoy this for all it was worth. Joe smiled as his friend handed him a plastic cup filled to the brim with green beer. Not only was it Joe’s birthday but it was also Saint Patrick’s Day. Taking a sip he looked over the cup brim of the cup and spied her.
She was beautiful, flowing brown hair that went past her shoulder blades, as a reflex she constantly flung some hair over her shoulder every few minutes. He had never seen her before, and he hoped to god that she wasn’t someone’s girlfriend. They did have the club to themselves, so he was hoping it was someone’s sister.
His heart raced as he lowered the cup and tried not to stare at her. Something was drawing him toward her. His lips twisted into a half smile as she twisted around in her chair so she was facing him, but not looking at him. His heart raced.
There you see her
Sitting there across the way
She don't got a lot to say
But there's something about her
And you don't know why
But you're dying to try
You wanna kiss the girl
“Joe!” Punk said sitting down next to him as he slapped his shoulder “Happy Birthday you old fogy!”
“Thanks,” Joe said slowly taking a sip out of his cup, his eyes flickering toward her before he looked at his friend.
“Who you looking at?” Punk asked slowly noticing Joe’s eyes flicker often in the same direction.
“No one,” He said grinning before taking a sip out of his drink again.
“Liar,” He said slowly as he followed Joe’s eyes. “OH! Her,”
“She’s not anyone’s is she?” Joe asked hopefully.
“Not that I know of,” Punk smiled in her direction “But it looks like she’s digging
you too.”
“No,” Joe said not even looking. “I doubt that.”
“You doubt yourself to much Joe,” Punk said standing up as he padded Joe’s shoulder
before walking away.
Biting his lip he quickly glanced at her way. Returning his gaze to his glass he blushed. Punk was right; she was looking at him with a faint blush in her cheeks as well. He downed the last of his drink as he slowly pushed himself out of the chair.
Yes, you want her
Look at her, you know you do
Possible she wants you too
There is one way to ask her
It don't take a word
Not a single word
Go on and kiss the girl
Joe took a deep breath as he got ready to walk toward her, but his heart stopped so he had to sit back in his chair. He felt his blush return for other reasons as he ran his hand over his head. Just as he was about to get the courage to walk up to her again she stood up to move. His heart thudded against his ribs as he thought ht was going to lose her. Swallowing hard he pushed himself out of the chair and quickly walked toward her.
Sha la la la la la
My oh my
Look like the boy too shy
Ain't gonna kiss the girl
Sha la la la la la
Ain't that sad?
Ain't it a shame?
Too bad, he gonna miss the girl
Joe walked up to her, but she was talking to someone else. Quietly he waited behind her, as he watched her from a short distance. The lights in the club changed; from a light green to a dark blue as the party raged on. He shifted his weight as he waited. His heart jumped as she slowly turned around and smiled at him.
Now's your moment
Floating in a blue lagoon
Boy you better do it soon
No time will be better
She don't say a word
And she won't say a word
Until you kiss the girl
She smiled kindly at Joe as she moved closer to him. His heart raced as she stood in front of him. Mouthing hi to her she smiled back at him and mouthed hello. His voiced echoed in his head, screaming for him to kiss her. But he hardly knew her he wasn’t going to risk something like that stopping them from knowing each other. He wanted to kiss her, her lips were right there; all he had to do was lean forward. Slowly she leaned forward as Joe followed her actions. Lightly he kissed her lips, as his heart jumped into his throat.
Sha la la la la la
Don't be scared
You got the mood prepared
Go on and kiss the girl
Sha la la la la la
Don't stop now
Don't try to hide it how
You want to kiss the girl
Sha la la la la la
Float along
And listen to the song
The song say kiss the girl
Sha la la la la
The music play
Do what the music say
You got to kiss the girl
You've got to kiss the girl
You wanna kiss the girl
You've gotta kiss the girl
Go on and kiss the girl
