Author's Note: Another story out of a dream. Don't ask why, it just always happens. And I know the summary is stupid. I don't think I ever had a summary for it. I'll come up with a better one.

The town was run down, but the inhabitants treated it like an Avalon. It was all most of them had. Some lived in old hotel rooms that were decent enough. A select few were able to salvage a house or two. But most lived on the street.

The weather was always favorable, so no one hated to live in the streets. The temperature barely went up to ninety in the summer. In the winter it never met sixty. It was always cloudy but it never rained. No one in that town ever recalled a sun existing.

A girl stood in the middle of the main road that cut the town in half. She looked from side to side. Her heart pounded in her chest. She took a step forward, and everything around her dissolved and she was falling and falling….

Her eyes opened quickly and she was breathing heavily. Her eyes tired to adjust to the dark bedroom. Her eyes looked around the room. She reached out to her left, and felt her boyfriends arm. She breathed a sigh of relief. She looked at her watch, it was ten in the morning. She sat up, and her stomach constricted in pain. She grasped her stomach.

“Hayden-” She gasped in pain “Hayden!”

She saw his eyes catch the little light in their room as he opened his eyes. She saw his out line as he sat up. The weight of the bed shifted as he moved toward her. He put one arm around her waist and another on her stomach.

“Rose, are you okay?” He asked.

“Yea-”she gasped as the quick pain left “I’m fine”

“That’s the third time this week.”

“I know” She tired to catch her breath “I still can’t figure out what’s wrong.”

Rose removed her hands from her stomach. Hayden tightened his grip on her waits. He felt her squirm, her hands clasped her mouth. She ran to the bathroom. Hayden sat quietly on the bed. He wondered what possibly could be wrong. He debated if he should check on her.

“Rose?” He got up from the bed.

“I’m fine,” She said quietly. He saw her walk out of the bathroom quietly.

Standing before him, she looked up at him. He looked solemnly down at her. Rose wrapped her arms around him, as he hugged her. She could hear his heart pounding in his chest. She lifted her head and looked up at him.

“Thanks,” She said.

“For what?” Hayden asked.

“Being there.” Rose said quietly “Always being there.”

He looked down at her and smiled at her. She wanted to stay in his arms forever. But today they had work to do, and they couldn’t afford to put it off.

Sneak Peak
They had lived in that town as long as she could remember. She was about thirteen when she and Hayden arrived in the town. But she never remembered how they came to the town. She even tired to ask Hayden if he remembered, but he would just shrug and say no. She gave up asking him about it.
