Tom walked down the street, against the win. He had just finished lunch alone in the small café. Toronto was expecting a major snow storm, in about an hour. So everyone was trying to rush and get home. He jogged along the crowded street trying not to bump into people.
The wind started to pick up and Tom bent his head and shoved his hands into his coat pockets. He was seriously regretting not driving to the café, but when he left his apartment it was a nice day with no chance of snow. A few hours ago a storm had popped up, and a blizzard was heading their way.
Tom wondered how a weather man could miss a blizzard the size of Texas. He hurried home; it was still a 10 minute walk. He was getting cold so he put on his hood from his hoodie, and then shoved his hands back into his pockets to keep them warm.
Raising his head for the first time in five minutes he stopped and looked around. The first of the snow was starting to fall, and fast. Tom sighed; he knew he’d have to run in the snow in order to make it home. Taking out his gloves from his pockets he put them on. Zipping up his coat to the top of the collar he pressed on.
He jogged for a while but stopped before his lungs froze. He stopped and started to shiver. He looked around and saw a coffee shop walking in he warmed his hands. Walking to the front counter he looked up at the menu and ordered a large coffee. He walked out five minutes later with a steaming cup of coffee.
Taking a sip he continued to walk back to his apartment. Tom only had 3 more blocks to go. Finally he was across the street from him home. The snow started to fall harder he was lucky he could see his house across the street. He looked down both sides of the road.
Taking his feet off the curb he took a quick glance down the street then darted. He heard a noise and stopped suddenly. He saw the head lights, but never felt the car.

“How’s he doing today nurse?” Said a first voice
“He’s coming to, he’s been in and out all week,” Said a second voice
“This is our car accident victim right?”
“Yes sir, car hit him going 70 after the driver lost control on the snowy road,”
“And he survived that?” Added a third
“Yes,”
“It’s a miracle”
The blackness disappeared as Tom’s eyes fluttered opened, and everyone just stared.
